5 years

June 20th, 2008

So we crossed the 5 year mark, this time, I insisted on buying dinner. Since my dinner with Dru, I’ve been raving about La Strada’s amazing carbonara. And since its Wayne’s favourite Italian dish, we got dolled up and went out for a beautiful 3 course dinner.

La Strada
1 Scotts Road, Shaw Centre, #02-10
Singapore 228208
Tel: +65 6737 2622
Dress code: Casual
website: http://www.lesamis.com.sg

Appetisers
Caprese – Buffalo mozzarella with confit Sicilian cherry tomatoes, basil agar-agar and char-grilled ciabatta bread

Mains
Spaghetti Alla Chitarra Con salsa Carbonara Tartufata
Hand made spaghetti with Spanish ham, truffle butter, parmesan and confit egg

Dessert
Tiramisu – Mascarpone cream with marsala, layered with coffee sponge and served with coffee sauce

Verdict? He loved it. After dinner, we watched Indiana Jones just upstairs at Lido. Verdict? Good movie CRAP VENUE. Am never booking at Lido again, that place has really gone downhill. Or maybe they just haven’t spent the money to upgrade themselves. Seats were super uncomfortable, Oohhh my back!?!

I think we’ve been together longer than some married couples have :)
Happy 5 year Anniversary tubs!

cass: the carbonara can get a bit much if you have it too often. it’s really rich. :)

ginA: yeah, but i’m not fond of small french portions.

    joann: hello there… thanks! :)

dru: i was out and about, and checked my facebook. i just presumed you were busy… ok let’s set a date when im back from the US. Let’s go the PS cafe at palais renaissance… or marmalade pantry. :) or couduroy cafe at vivocity.

izamy: yeah i haven’t got round to that post yet…hehehehe ;) we will be up there again this weekend, but not to race.

PPl alws said after 4-5 years being together. the next step is either u two move on together to the next phase of life or u split ways if things doesnt go well Jus curious what the holding up? :P

hugo: you know… there is some truth in that. We live life in phases, and there is always progression in a relationship. I won’t lie, there are tough times, especially after being together for so long… but you just got to keep reminding yourself, that this dating thing won’t last forever… so you just have to enjoy it now.

although, you can date when you’re married. But you know what i mean…. you just have to enjoy it.

Lucky for wayne, i’m not pushy about marraige or anything like that. for me…. it’s all in good time.

As long as you two have come into terms on certain things, it will be fine. Nevertheless we will like to see you blog one day when you start for the prepartion of the next phase. Good Luck :-)

Yeah, but my personal motto when it comes to good food’s always ‘to eat 1st, bloat & worry about getting fat LATER’ =p
