I’ve been eyeing this bike online, and when I saw it at Nik & PLing’s house a few months back, I had to take it for a spin.
2 things that I love about cruisers: Coolness and Comfort factor.
A new bike shop opened down the road from work called Fabscycle. And I’ve gone back twice just to look see. Itching to get myself one!! ArGH!
Now on to fixies, there’s just something about the simplicity which I love.
The wonderful people at Urban outfitters are now allowing users to customise their fixies online for just US$399! That’s a bargain! Have a go at their website HERE. Sweeeeet!

I feel like watching it tonight… I want to know how it ends!?!
*update 2
Damn, opening 8th October.
Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love. Girl doesn’t. This post modern love story is never what we expect it to be its thorny yet exhilarating, funny and sad, a twisted journey of highs and lows that doesn’t quite go where we think it will. When Tom, a hapless greeting card copywriter and hopeless romantic, is blindsided after his girlfriend Summer dumps him, he shifts back and forth through various periods of their 500 days “together” to try to figure out where things went wrong. His reflections ultimately lead him to finally rediscover his true passions in life.
I want one of these if I ever get my own place in a country with a cooler climate.
Now here’s another genius invention from those ever-so-clever American johnnies that’s straight out of the why-didn’t-we-think-of-that file.
The Slanket is, in short, a gigantic fleece blanket with sleeves. Pop it on and disappear inside its cuddly massiveness and be enveloped by its sheer fleeciness. Then simply pop Friends on the DVD. Open a massive bag of Maltesers. And who needs mates?
Soft to the touch, lightweight and warm, it’s got large, loose sleeves so you don’t actually feel you’re wearing it. Which might defeat the purpose, but who are we to argue? Spiffing.
It’s going to be hard to document everything I did in Hong Kong, so instead of a wordy post, I’ve decided to put together photo collages and write down the key highlights of each day. This series of blog posts is also an archive copy for myself. I’ll try my best to fill as much information as I can, such as addresses and recommendations, just in case you’re planning your itinerary to Hong Kong.
But for now, here’s a video of my 10days in 3mins.
I knew what was going to happen, and I tried my best to be emotionally prepare for this movie. In hindsight, I wish I brought some tissue instead of using my cardigan as a snort cloth. I blogged about the book “Marley & Me” about two years back, so you can imagine how excited i was when they announced the production of the movie.
If you love dogs, or had a dog that has past, this movie will definitely tug on your heart strings. Till today, I still miss Flicka very much.
Still on the movie, I heard a beautiful BEAUTIFUL rendition of a Kurt Cobain song “Lithium” redone by this guy called Bruce Lash. Had to get it. I’ve uploaded it onto my playlist on the right for you to listen to.
A week ago, I was told to keep my diary free on Saturday, because i had a date! OOooooooOoooo…. I got picked up around 11:30am, and was told to dress for the beach! When i got in the car, looked behind, and there packed and ready was a picnic basket and mat! OOoooooo…..
I later found out Wayne actually COOKED LUNCH! Shock Horror! Am sure his mum would be very proud to read this!
Sentosa is changing so much it’s hard to keep up with new attractions and restaurants , so I’m glad we had a chance to go in the day when there was light!
We found a nice spot under the coconut tree (with no coconuts of course), and got comfy. Wayne took out his homemade spaghetti, warning me that it’s not that great, and how we might have to eventually buy something from the nearby restaurant. My final verdict? Nothing short of F A N T A S T I C! I was honestly impressed. I’m not sure if its a good thing for him though, this means he can’t be excused from cooking duties in the future.
We spent the next few hours with me lying on his lap while we watched the days go by watched a couple of boys TRY to pick up three boobie-ful girls in bikinis. Entertaining!
It was the simplest of afternoons, and i loved it.
The best things in life always comes unexpected,
just like when you came into my life 5 years ago.
You are always my sunshine and I hope this brightens your day”
We did alot of shopping between us last weekend, and I just felt like buying Wayne something. We were browsing through the racks at the originals store at Pacific Plaza, when I saw this fantastic t-shirt.
I ABSOLUTELY love it! It’s so cute! Especially that lipstick print on the collar!
And of course the day isn’t complete without Portia and Cassius greeting us with kisses when we got back.
My name is Angela, and I am addicted to Guitar Hero.
Since we were all in ROCKER mode, we decided to take some rocker shots. Ok this is embarrassing, but only after 5mins did Wayne tell us we’re doing the wrong hand sign! Instead of the horns/devil hand sign, we were doing the “I love you” sign. Lose…
Ok! How embarrassing! At least we got this one right!
It’s so addictive Wayne comes over every other day, just so we can unlock more songs. We have currently finished medium level on Guitar Hero 1 and 2.
And as much as Wayne hates to admit it, I’m better than him at Guitar Hero too.
Besides dinner, i spent most of my time at home. The AM was spent doing Rosco things, by lunch I was starving for some hot home cooked food. My mum volunteered to cook Xiao Long Bao, on the condition we helped her out.
By 2pm, my sister and i were covered with flour from all the rolling and folding.
Note: this was our first try.
They look pretty bad! The juices all escaped, the skin was too thick, the xiao long baos got stuck to the linen. But trust me, it tasted quite good! At least they were edible.
My mum made a secret cake for me too! Secret because she wouldn’t tell us what its made of. After that, it was a short game of MahJong before i had to get ready for dinner.
Wayne made reservations 2 weeks ago, and tried his very best to keep it a secret. And me being me, I love guessing him out! He ignored my attempts, but apparently I got it on the second try!
We went to Mortons steakhouse for some juicy steaks (duh!)
I must say, Mortons really went out of the way to personalise for the occasion. My menu was personalised, I had a picture taken, plus a free slice of cheesecake with a candle on top! I had party sprinkles on my table (probably also a cue for the staff to sing Happy Birthday). By the way… there were 6 other people celebrating their birthdays on that day, so it was kind of funny seeing them going table to table.
So all in all… I’ve had a fantastic birthday dinner, and Wayne was such a sweet heart. I’ve past the quarter century mark, and now its all downhill from here.
…your boyfriend sending you to work on a Sunday evening, and staying with you till the wee hours in the morning, just to keep me company. He insists on sending me home as well, just to make sure i’m home safe and sound.
It’s 1:23am and he’s now sleeping on my office’s IKEA chairs, waiting till i finish my reports. The poor poor boy must be so tired.
1hr 23mins ago, he wished me Happy Anniversary for the 4 years 4 months we’ve been together.
How can i not be love with such an amazing human being.
Darling, do you mind! You’re drooling on my shoes!
Someone, please tell me how to stop this obsession with my shoe fetish boyfriend. He has now taken to my new Adidas Stella McCartney runners. No you can’t wear my Stella McCartneys Wayne… get your own pair!
Dinner was at a Japenese BBQ restaurant in Chijmes called Gyu Kaku.
We weren’t sure what to order, so we left it to one of the waitstaff to surprise us.
He brought out aparagus, mushrooms, garlic prawns (its the 4th year, we don’t care if we get bad breath on a date at 4 years), Wagyu beef, pork strips, chicken teriyaki, Japanese salad and rice.
You can’t have BBQ food without some BEeeer! 2 Mugs of Asahi please!
So how does it work? They bring out your food raw and seasoned, and all you have to do is chuck it on to the grill in front of you for a couple of minutes. It’s great because i can burn the steak the way i like it! If you want to try this place out, i highly recommend the wagyu beef…SO tender, juicy, and fatty.
We were so full we decided to walk round the premises, hand in hand, just chatting and joking. And that by itself, is a perfect date. 4 years on…and i still love my big grumpallofagus…very very much!
Yesterday marked the 4th year me and Wayne have been together. Since we were busy last night, it’s dinner tonight instead. I feel so special…getting picked up at 7pm, better get going…Love you honey!
Prelude
Hey all. It has finally arrived. Gone are the sleepless nights, gone are the nightmares of lost delivery packages, gone are the empty sinking feelings I have when I watch mountain bike DVDs or look at others’ stoke mountain biking pictures, gone are the times that Gilbert has had to run and hide when he saw me approaching his shop and gone are the days of waiting by the phone for that one call to end my torture. For the light has finally shone on me and my Turner RFX has arrived! Read more…
Wayne’s on leave today, so we had breakfast together at Ghim Moh Market Hawker Centre. Smsed Janice, but she already left for breakfast at Raffles Place, oh well, next time. 2 Set A’s
2 soft boil eggs + Kaya Toast + Kopi
2 soft boil eggs + Kaya Toast + Hot milk
Kaya toast, a traditional breakfast dish. Kaya is a sweet coconut and egg jam, and this is spread over toasted bread. Combined with a cup of local coffee and a half-boiled egg, this makes a typical Singaporean breakfast. -courtesy of wikipedia-
I can really get used to this…
Something to note: Wayne is ALOT less of a Grumpaloffagus in the morning if he is fed breakfast, good to know…good to know.
