Leaked track from their first album “Dreaming Out Loud” which was only released on an itunes album pack. Right up my alley with the melancholy, acoustic guitars, cellos and minor chords. Love love LOVE. Enjoy.
So level 1 Español Classe is over, and I should be signing up for Level 2. But I missed out the last few lessons at Las Lilas and don’t feel like I’m ready for it yet. Guess I need to self-tutor myself those last few chapters.
Have always loved the Spanish language, and I’ve got this ‘in-my-gut desire’ to go to South America.
And an idea came about early 2010 to quit my job, go to South America and volunteer for 3-6months. So I took up Spanish lessons to make it easier for me to communicate while I’m there.
But as all laid out plans turn out, it DIDN’T go as planned. I DID quit my job, but I soon fell into another one straight after and had to shelf that idea for now.
But having said that, I’m not that upset by it at all. I’m doing something I truly enjoy and will continue to enjoy for years to come.
Got a lil excited when I saw this ad below. From 28 March 2011, Singapore Airlines flies three times weekly to Sao Paulo, their first South American destination. And even better, via Barcelona!
I may not be able to go there for 6 months at a go, but I definitely feel with this new flight route a trip is in the horizon. The places I’d like to go: Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil.
Since we’re on the same topic, here’s one of my fav Buena Vista Social Club song.
In the past few years I’ve come to apreciate soundtrack music. Not so much the pop soundtracks, but the classical pieces. And the one composer I truly love is Aaron Zigman. He has created many memorable pieces for some of the most emotionally-charged movies out there.
Zigman has an amazing ability to capture on-screen emotions and translate them to beautifully written scores. He especially shines at melancholic arrangements, which is my kind of music – darker and more intense.
Below are movies he has done that I like:
John Q. (2001)
The Notebook (2004)
In the Mix (2005)
Take the Lead (2006)
Step Up (2006)
Bridge to Terabithia (2007)
Good Luck Chuck (2007)
The Jane Austen Book Club (2007)
Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium (2007)
Step Up 2 the Streets (2008)
Sex and the City: The Movie (2008)
The Proposal (2009)
My Sister’s Keeper (2009)
The Ugly Truth (2009)
The Last Song (2010)
Sex and the City 2 (2010)
This Canadian-based duo have really got me smiling everyday this week. I’ve been walking to work with this song. Sometimes I’d do a little hop, skip, jig and turn when no one is looking. What a great way to start the day!
Another reason why I absolutely love John Mayer is the ability to connect with so many of his songs. He is a lyrical and musical genius not to forget comedian. I ought to buy his DVDs, because watching him play is the greatest pleasure of all.
Together with my act of follicle rebellion, this is the song of the month for me.
You’re damn right… who says I can’t do whatever I want…
Who Says
Who says I can’t get stoned
Turn off the lights and the telephone
Me in my house alone
Who says I can’t get stoned
Who says I can’t be free
From all of the things that I used to be
Rewrite my history
Who says I can’t be free
It’s been a long night in New York City
It’s been a long night in Baton Rouge
I don’t remember you looking any better
But then again I don’t remember you
Who says I can’t get stoned
Call up a girl that I used to know
Fake love for an hour or so
Who says I can’t get stoned
Who says I can’t take time
Meet all the girls in the county line
Wait on fate to send a sign
Who says I can’t take time
It’s been a long night in New York City
It’s been a long night in Austin too
I don’t remember you looking any better
But then again I don’t remember you
Who says I can’t get stoned
Plan a trip to Japan alone
Doesn’t matter if I even go
Who says I can’t get stoned
It’s been a long night in New York City
It’s been a long time since 22
I don’t remember you looking any better
But then again I don’t remember you
Decided to join Danli and the girls at Stereolabs for the Kerri Chandler gig. Love house music, love Kerri Chandler and love my friends…so why not.
Here are a couple of snaps taken from that night. Bumped into Stan as well whom we haven’t seen in yeaaarrsss.
Hanged with Ming and Maurice for the rest of the night too after finding out it was Momo’s last night out before he heads to London for work.
The less I write, the better. Let the pictures speak for itself.
